Wishlist: 5 June 2015

It’s been a delightful and busy week. I realised recently that my mood and motivation at work has a huge impact on how I feel in the rest of my life. I used to think that I should slug through a miserable working week so that I could enjoy myself as soon as I left the building. I’ve realised, though, that forty hours is a big part of anyone’s week and if I feel unproductive or stressed at the office, I take that negativity home with me. Anyway, I’ve been making a concerted effort to enjoy work more, and it seems to be paying off.

Buoyed by that thought, I’m looking forward to a weekend of …

  • Eating! (Never not, let’s be honest). Probably here as it’s my local and I haven’t been for aaaaages.
  • Making these mango bites to take to the office on Monday. We’re all participating in Junk Free June and I think we’ve earned some healthy treats!
  • Still reading Of Things Gone Astray by Janina Matthewson (it’s great).
  • Continuing my Mad Men marathon (the reason I haven’t finished my book!). Mad Men is one of those series I’ve been meaning to watch for years, and it hasn’t disappointed. Not sure which I love more, the clothes or the characters, but I’m addicted to both.
  • Heading to the City Gallery for a second viewing of Candice Breitz’s new exhibit – I caught a little of it last night at an event, but I’d like to view it again sober and with more time 😉
  • Reading the NY Times. I just caved and bought a digital subscription because I was always running out of free articles! These have taken my fancy already …
  • Listening to Anika Moa’s new album. She always has something surprising to say…
